As far as life's coolest experiences go this scored second place! Seeing our baby for the first time (even though it was just on a screen) was.... amazing... ummm.... yeah no words to describe it. Watching the legs and arms kicking around even though it is still so tiny... whoa... like I said, really cool! One of my favorite parts of this was seeing Chris's reaction. Neither of us knew what to expect at all so when that little baby showed up on the screen Chris was immediately out of his seat leaning over me to get a closer look. He had the biggest smile on is face and kept saying "No way!" over and over again. For both of us this moment was when it first seemed real that we are actually going to have a baby.

Part-Time Politics
Well since this is Heather and I's first real chance to get into politics and think about who to vote for (with the exception of my chance to do an absentee ballot for the ever amazing George W. Bush during my mission that I must have forgotten to care about) we have really started to pay a lot more attention to our failing political system. From the very early debates we got captured into the drama of the whole process. We kept our eyes on hopeful, unlikely candidates like Ron Paul and prayed that anyone but Hillary or Gulliani would get chosen as the nominees for their parties. As the primaries went on though we began to see how frustrating the system can be for someone to run in this country and how a worthless candidate like John McCain could some how be brought back from political suicide to the presumptive nominee and how the oddity that was Barrack Obama could become an unstoppable Democratic force. In fact the whole thing seemed to make me realize how near-sighted our country is and how we still don't seem to have the sense as a whole to choose a candidate that could bring real positive change to our nation. Does anyone else feel like there should be a reset button to press when the whole situation turns out as bad as this one has? So lately instead of checking cnn.com every minute to check what's happening with the political gossip I just watch The Colbert Report and The Onion News Network to at least see that at the least there are other people who think these guys are as pointless as I do.
